Poison Ring ~ The Perfect Halloween Accessory

Dressing up for Halloween and Halloween parties is always a lot of fun, even for adults! Some of us spend weeks putting together the right outfit, making sure we have the best accessories for our selected costumes. There are a few accessories that really stand out as all time favorites. This poison ring is, by far, my favorite Halloween costume accessory.

Origin of the Poison Ring

The poison ring originated in ancient days, but became popular in Europe in the 16th century and was used as a pill box, which was a very clever way to conceal pills intended to poison the enemy by slipping the pills into their food or even to commit suicide if captured.

If you look closely at the photo, you can see the hinges on the side of the amethyst colored Swarovski crystal. This ring opens and closes to hide and dispense the “poison”. The coffin shape of this ring should also be a dead giveaway to it’s lethal potential.

Perfect Halloween Costume Accessory

The poison ring would be appropriate to wear with several different Halloween costumes, including the pope, vampires, Gothic, kings & knights or perhaps even a black widow, witch or fortune teller costume.

Truly the perfect Halloween accessory, even without a costume!

I LOVE the idea of a poison ring as a costume accessory for Halloween! How cool it looks on its own but with a secret compartment too! I am thinking a vampire this year and could definitely use this poison ring!

What do you mean, Halloween? I can come up with dozens of ways to make use of a poison ring during the rest of the year as well.
